Summary of Events
Though unconfirmed, #SudanCoup authorities seem to be preparing for the eventuality of demonstrations taking place tomorrow by closing bridges in Khartoum.
Returning from Moscow today, Himedti held a press conference in Khartoum, in which he urged the people to "stop this demonstrating mess" and engage in dialogue [with coup leaders].
He also declared Sudan open to establishing a foreign naval base along the Red Sea: "If any country wants to open a base and it is in our interests and doesn't threaten our national security we have no problem in dealing with anyone, Russian or otherwise." A reminder that a deal was made with the Bashir regime for the establishment of a Russian naval base in 2019.
