Day 15 of the Military Coup

Summary of Events

  • Sudan has completed its 15th day of imposed internet blackout, another crisis created by the military in an attempt to maintain control of the narrative and the people.

  • 36 teachers still remain detained after yesterday's teachers protest in front of the state Ministry of Education in Khartoum. In the city of Nyala, 2 teachers remain in custody since yesterday, when teachers attempted to protest inside the state Ministry of Education, but were stopped by military forces, who closed off the ministry gates.

  • Gezira University in Medani announced the indefinite suspension of all classes, partly in response to nationwide callout for schools and universities to shut down as part of #SudanCivilDisobedience. In their statement, the Council of Deans also condemned coup forces for “terrorizing administration employees and the infliction of material and moral harm.”

  • Mobilization continues in the capital, across cities and online thru the diaspora to raise awareness about the upcoming #Nov13March, a 'millions march' to reiterate national rejection of military rule, set to be held on Saturday.
