Summary of Events

  • Sudan Central Doctors Committee reported the death of 35 year old Hamdi Badreldin, who was shot in the head by #SudanCoup forces on December 19, and died today as a result of his injuries. He is the 48th person killed by authorities in Khartoum since October 25.

  • Citizens in West Darfur continue to face insecurity: 3 women and 1 child were shot at this morning by militia near Ardamata IDP camp east of AlGineina. A reminder that earlier this month, #SudanCoup council vowed to send 3 thousand troops to Darfur region to “control” security situation.

  • Sudan is gearing up for #Dec25March - the tenth round of nationwide mass demonstrations since October 25 rejecting #SudanCoup and military rule. There are reports that #SudanCoup forces have already begun closing bridges around the tri-city capital. Demonstrators in Khartoum plan to head to the presidential palace, and oil industry workers have announced an open strike starting tomorrow.
