  • Sudan Doctors Committee reported another martyr: an unidentified man died today after being shot with a teargas canister in the chest by #SudanCoup forces at yesterday’s demonstrations in Khartoum. He is the 53rd martyr in Khartoum since Oct 25.

  • The acting undersecretary of Federal Ministry of Health resigned today in protest of the raiding of hospitals and extreme violence inflicted on peaceful protesters. Sovereignty Council member Abdelbagi Abdelgadir also resigned today, citing violence of #SudanCoup forces as reason.

  • In mourning of the 5 killed yesterday, Sudan Coptic Church has cancelled its New Years celebrations.

  • Protests continued in several cities today, including Port Sudan, Sennar, Kosti and Khartoum. They are part of an escalation announced nationwide after yesterday's events.

  • The Coordinating Body of Resistance Committees of Khartoum announced the schedule for mass demonstrations for January: 6, 12, 17, 24, 30.
