Summary of Events
Protests were held in several cities across Sudan today denouncing the arbitrary arrest and detention of citizens by #SudanCoup forces, including silent protests in Sennar, Gedarif and Kosti.
In the capital, neighborhood demonstrations were held, demanding the immediate release of all political detainees. Protests in Bahri were teargassed by #SudanCoup forces.
The attack on the Northern Barricade continues; a statement by local resistance committees reported that a group of armed civilians, allegedly under the orders of #SudanCoup Council member Abdelgasim Bartam and the Northern State Farmers Union, were behind the dismantling of Haamdaab barricade yesterday.
In a tragic escalation, an Egyptian truck forced its way through a barricade at Sortod, running over a protester in the process. The truck was intercepted by protesters, and the driver held, but the incident led to the death of 38 year old Atif Abelfarraaj Ali.
