Day 127 of the Military Coup
Summary of Events
At least 14 cities came out today in the last round of nationwide mass demos of February.
Protests in Medani, Khartoum and Port Sudan were attacked by #SudanCoup forces, using teargas, stun grenades and live ammunition. Medani Resistance Committees reported 9 injured, most of them suffering gunshot wounds; in Port Sudan, resistance committees reported 9 injured.
Authorities also arrested protesters in Khartoum, Port Sudan, Kosti and Rabak.
In Central Khartoum, protesters made it to the presidential palace gates, but were then violently dispersed by #SudanCoup forces, who used live ammunition and Dshk artillery guns against peaceful, unarmed protesters.
#SudanCoup forces raided Khartoum and AlArba'een hospitals, firing teargas and terrorizing doctors and staff.
The brutality of authorities has led to the death of 2 protesters, both shot with live ammunition, raising the total death toll to 85.
In the aftermath of yesterday's meeting w/the EU heads of mission (and Himedti's visit to Moscow), #SudanCoup leadership has finally clarified their official position regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict: "Our country's position supports dialogue as a means to resolve the crisis."
