Day 64 of the Military Coup

Summary of Events

  • A protest of elementary and high school students in Damazin, Blue Nile State was attacked by military police and dispersed today, according to resistance committees.

  • #SudanCoup council announced directive to begin the electoral process. According to the November 21 agreement signed between Hamdok and Burhan, elections are set to take place in July 2023. A reminder that a cabinet to carry out remainder of transitional period has yet to be formed.

  • Still no word on Hamdok's resignation, as reports continue to circulate of his intention to leave his post.

  • In the meantime, calls continue for participation in #Dec30March, the 11th nationwide mass demonstration since the military took power on October 25.
