Day 90 of the Military Coup

Summary of Events

• In the aftermath of the death of 25 year old Mohamed Faisal Khalafallah, the city of Medani woke up to protest and barricade - and therefore, to violence from #SudanCoup forces. Authorities used teargas, live ammunition and their vehicles to suppress peaceful protesters, causing 7 injuries, including 1 protester shot in the head, and another who sustained abdominal wounds after being hit by a military truck.

• Despite the terror inflicted on the city today, resistance committees still managed to release their draft political declaration. The draft outlines:

  • identifying the transitional period

  • goals of the transitional period

  • constitutional arrangements and transitional governance structure

  • the economy

  • social and criminal justice

  • the political and conceptual vision for issues of the transitional period

• The draft political declaration is now available for discussion and development by resistance committees nationwide, as well as the general public.
