Day 99 of the Military Coup
Summary of Events
#SudanCoup forces continue their campaign of arrests as resistance committees across the capital report arrests in their ranks. Over 65 activists, resistance committee members and lawyers remain in unlawful detention.
In Kassala, police refused to release 5 detained activists, adding to their charges. The activists, who were arrested at yesterday's demonstrations in the city and charged with disturbing the peace, are now being charged with criminal damage and trespassing.
The Sudan Doctors Committee reported a total of 180 injured by #SudanCoup forces during #Jan30March, including 10 casualties in Gedarif and 6 in Kassala. A reminder that the total death toll since October 25 has risen to 79 after the murder of a protester by authorities yesterday.
Port Sudan Resistance Committees reported intercepting 3 trucks attempting to transport camels to Egypt. In another escalation, the main trade routes in the state have been barricaded since yesterday, following in the footsteps of Northern State to create the Red Sea Barricade.
The Coordinating Body of Khartoum Resistance Committees announced today February's schedule of nationwide mass demonstrations against #SudanCoup: 7, 14, 21, 28. The other days are for resistance activities, to be decided at local resistance committees and revolutionary organizations’' discretion.
