Day 41 of the Military Coup

Summary of Events

  • A militia attack on a market in AlGineina, West Darfur has left 2 people killed and a number injured. This is following an attack on Jebel Moon on Wednesday, which left 2 civil servants dead. According to Radio Dabanga, residents hold the state government responsible for the continued insecurity, and demand PM Hamdok address the issue. Insecurity remains a pressing matter across the Darfur region. In North Darfur, residents of Manwashi entered their 3rd day of protest, blocking off the Nyala-Elfashir highway after militia attacks left 4 people killed.

  • Resistance activities continued in different cities; in AlNuhud, West Kordofan, a silent protest was held rejecting #SudanCoup and military rule. In Omdurman, a silent protest was held demanding the release of detained protesters still held at Soba Prison, some for over 2 weeks.

  • Neighborhood protests have already begun calling for #Dec6March, Sudan's seventh nationwide mass demonstration since October 25, and the first of 5 planned for the month of December.
