Summary of Events
A joint statement by KSA, UAE, USA and UK was released today regarding the political agreement signed between Hamdok and Burhan on November 21, congratulating them on the agreement. The statement urged signatories to "live up to the commitments made in the agreement".
#SudanCoup Council suspends Eastern Track of the Juba Peace Agreement, a few days shy of the deadline given by Beja Council, who threatened to shut down the Port (again) if the track is not removed from the agreement.
Meanwhile, resistance activities continued today. In South Khartoum, a large protest took place calling for participation in the December 19 demonstrations. #Dec19March will be 9th wave of nationwide mass demonstrations since October 25 - all against #SudanCoup and military rule.
The humanitarian situation at Zamzam IDP camp in North Darfur continues to worsen in the aftermath of violence of the last few weeks. Radio Dabanga reports "acute shortage of food, blankets and shelter materials", as well as an outbreak of disease and malnutrition. Residents are reportedly afraid to leave the camp because of the presence of armed gunmen in the vicinity, in a continuation of insecurity in the area.
